ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA CLASSES IN LARNACA

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is the most energetic style of yoga. It is a fast flowing set of asanas/postures that are linked together by the breath. Classes will focus on The Primary series, which are a series of postures in a logical sequence, designed to open and strengthen the body. Each posture is an introduction to the next and when joined together with the breath creates a rhythmic experience that can allow the body to enter into a moving meditation.

Ashtanga can be a demanding class due the sequencing of postures. However, classes are suitable for beginners as well as the more advanced student as we will gradually work through the primary series of postures, working at each students own level. However due to the faster pace of this class, a general level of fitness is required.

RubyRuby

Early in 2004 Ruby discovered the ‘self practice’ Mysore style of Ashtanga yoga through Hamish Henry in London.  Moved by the yoga she left her job to travel to India and study with the Guru of the Ashtanga system, Sri K Pattabhi Jois.  Falling in love with India she travelled the country finding herself at the Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar Dam, Kerala.  It was here she learnt the other aspects of yoga practice; pranayama, chanting, kriyas & philosophy (Bhagavad Gita & Yoga Sutras of Patanjali) when she took their Teacher Training course.  So moved by the holistic way of living, Ruby decided to take a Natural Therapist course in 2007.   Ruby has had the great fortune to study with master teachers such as: Sri K Pattabhi Jois, Sharath Rangaswamy, Tim Miller, Hamish Henry, Annie Pace and Louise Ellis. more...
