I first discovered yoga in 2000 when a friend asked me to come along to her first yoga class. I was instantly hooked and was amazed how I left the class on such a high. The positive effects of that first class stayed with me for days. I continued to practise through my pregnancy and yoga became an integral part of my life. In 2007 a valued teacher 'planted the seed' and suggested I do a teacher training. Eventually that seed became a reality and I gave up my full time job in Insurance to devote my time to my yoga journey. I completed a Yoga Alliance accredited teacher training with Paul Dallaghan of Centered Yoga. Paul is directly certified by Sri K Pattabhi Jois. My teaching style places a strong emphasis on alignment, sequencing, breath and inner awareness. I have a dedicated daily practise and enjoy the dynamic challenge of Ashtanga Yoga, as well as the positive energy I get from sharing all kinds of yoga with others. |

Early in 2004 Ruby discovered the ‘self practice’ Mysore style of Ashtanga yoga through Hamish Henry in London. Moved by the yoga she left her job to travel to India and study with the Guru of the Ashtanga system, Sri K Pattabhi Jois. Falling in love with India she travelled the country finding herself at the Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar Dam, Kerala. It was here she learnt the other aspects of yoga practice; pranayama, chanting, kriyas & philosophy (Bhagavad Gita & Yoga Sutras of Patanjali) when she took their Teacher Training course. So moved by the holistic way of living, Ruby decided to take a Natural Therapist course in 2007. Ruby has had the great fortune to study with master teachers such as: Sri K Pattabhi Jois, Sharath Rangaswamy, Tim Miller, Hamish Henry, Annie Pace and Louise Ellis. |
